_.:::TENTANG BLOG INI :::._

I've been on tour in South East Asia with my band in July 2011. We've played with so many great bands and I've learned about so many others that I felt the urge to make them available for a wider audience outside of SEA. Not that they aren't available on other blogs yet, but I hope this blog makes it easier to find and find out about them from an "outsider's" perspective.

DAIGHILA

Okay, let's start off with one of the best bands I've seen live on our South East Asian tour, perhaps THE best band: enter DAIGHILA!

DIAGHILA are a four piece based in Kuala Lumpur, and not only do they have two of the finest people I've met in their line-up (singer Duan and guitarist Amir), they also play some of the heaviest live sets I've seen lately.

Describe their music? It's guitar-heavy, brooding hardcore with screamed vocals, tricky breakdowns, tempo changes, atmospheric noisy bits. Some people would probably call it screamo, although there's much more in it, a little Converge-y techie stuff, brutal power blasts, great licks & riffage.

Members of DAIGHILA are also involved in putting on DIY gigs and tours, e.g. at Kuala Lumpur's best-known DIY space Rumah Api (ex-Gudang Noisy).

Gigs // Tours
There's a good chance DAIGHILA will make it to Europe in 2012. If you want to see them play, you better encourage them, and send them money for the flights!
